A typical dental implant is inserted at a prior extraction site before the bone has completely healed. Since most routine extractions are actually cavitations in the process of forming, an implant is often being inserted through a pocket of developing gangrene. When a metallic screw, especially one made of the nickel-containing stainless steel, is implanted into the jawbone through this forming cavi-tation, metallic toxicity and anaerobic bacterial toxicity are almost certain to be introduced deep into the jawbone. Since this is the typical way in which implants are done, it is still not really known if the implant could be an immunologically acceptable restoration if un-infected healing could be documented after a proper extraction and before the implant, while using an implant metal of only minimal toxicity.
A word about dentures. Since most extractions routinely leave in the periodontal ligaments, most people who have had all of their teeth removed have a huge number of cavitations, often connecting together in a tubelike fashion over much of the jawbone. This can be highly toxic. The sickest people who came to Dr. Huggjns's clinic to
Toxic Blocks to Good Health and Optimal Weight 169
have their dental toxins removed usually had the fewest teeth, and had one or more root canals in the few teeth that remained.
